Read how PwC use Natter to Give Employees a Voice and Inform Leadership Decision-Making
To strengthen the connection between its own employees and ensure their priorities are fully reflected in PwC’s workplace culture, leadership sought to directly engage teams and listen to their perspectives.
Kerry Appleton-Norman, Partner and Consulting Lead for People, set out to gather feedback across three areas:
Leadership Connectivity: Understanding how to nurture meaningful engagement between leadership and all employees.
Professional Growth: Identifying how leadership can better support skills development and career progression across the organization.
DEIB: Learning how to build a more inclusive and diverse workplace.
Kerry needed a solution that would allow hundreds of employees to speak freely and share their honest opinions, simultaneously. The one-way responses of traditional surveys didn’t capture the authentic voice of PwC’s people and focus groups were restricted to an unrepresentative handful of opinions.
Instead, Kerry turned to Natter.
Natter created a safe space for all participants to voice their opinions equally and anonymously, regardless of job title or tenure. Being paired into conversations, framed by open-ended questions, employees felt comfortable sharing observations that they would not have voiced individually.
Kerry and her team were able to tap into authentic, unfiltered qualitative responses and instantly review the insights.
The top, emerging themes that came from PwC employees’ conversations highlighted the importance placed on:
Prioritizing visibility and trust in leadership.
Favouring a structured approach to accessing training and development opportunities.
Embedding DE&I principles into all daily processes.
